Distinguished for his specialized design services,
Stephen Coates has been a Design Director and
Design Architect to various private and commercial
projects worldwide. Some of his more important
projects are:
A 40-storey twin tower with sky gardens and a
10-storey wing that provides 80,000 sq. m. of
prime residential area.
A 150,000 sq.m. residential retail structure,
with a cinema hall and bowling complex. It is
one of the tallest in Kolkata and is arranged
around a communal garden.
A competition winner, the Hammersmith Embankment
has been designed to maximize the view over the
river Thames.
The largest and most significant development under
construction in the New Beijing Central Business
District . It comprises 5 towers - twin residential,
twin office and a hotel tower.
A major refurbishment of the Princess Building,
it’s home to major European retailers like
Chanel, Cartier, Dunhill, and Hugo Boss.
Twenty buildings arranged around a beautiful island
waterway, the arrangement provides a wonderful
setting for a proposed new home for the Ministry
of Defense.

& Associates
Maniramka & Associates is one of the youngest
architectural firms in Kolkata. Started by Sunil
Maniramka in 1993, it now has a large team of
architects, interior designers, engineers and
consultants.
Over the last 14 years, Maniramka & Associates
have undertaken planning and design consultancy
assignments for housing projects, shopping centers,
bungalows, factories, temples, dharmsalas, old
age homes, nursing homes, etc (almost a hundred
projects in and around Kolkata). They have designed
buildings in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Tatanagar,
Raipur, Gaziabad, Gurgaon and Kathmandu.
Some of Maniramka & Associates' notable projects
are:
~ a housing project in Rajarhat of 550,000 sq
ft
~ Fortune City at Madhyamgram: a housing project
of 560,000 sq ft comprising 20 buildings
~ Shrachi Village at Madhyamgram: a housing complex
of 220,000 sq ft comprising 265
flats, a shopping center, a community hall and
60 per cent of green cover.
~ Merlin Topaz at Behala: a housing complex of
135,000 sq ft

HIDCO
The West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development
Corporation Ltd. (WBHIDCO Ltd.) was set up as
a Government company on 26 April 1999. Though
the corporation has a state-wide mandate, its
immediate focus area is the development of New
Town, the planned town near the city of Kolkata
towards its north-eastern fringe. The corporation
has been given wide powers to acquire and sell
land, for different purposes, develop the entire
range of infrastructure services, construct housing
and commercial premises and also to maintain the
New Town till such time a regular body is established
for the delivery of such services.
