– he owns three restaurants in Manhattan,
New York.

Laboratory. His companies are either in the US

The Shrachi Group is engaged in a variety of
businesses as diverse as agro-machinery, engineering,
finance, IT, medical services, etc. Real estate
development is one of the main activities of the
Shrachi Group.
Bengal Shrachi is the real estate arm of the
group and a well-known name in the real estate
business in Kolkata. The company was formed as
a result of the West Bengal Government’s
realization that it needed housing that was both
affordable and of high quality. The West Bengal
Housing Board and Shrachi came together in 1997
in a public-private partnership to form a joint
venture, Bengal Shrachi Housing Development Limited.
Among the better-known projects completed by
the Shrachi Group are Greenwood Park and Greenwood
Sonata. The BlockByBlock mall in New Town, which
is being built, is a first of its kind. The other
landmark building that the Group is working on
is the Synthesis Business Park. The building is
an environmental marvel because it is orientated
to climate change, wind direction and the movement
of the sun.
Bengal Shrachi, with its decade-long reputation,
has promoted unique architectural features and
set benchmarks in real estate developments. Rosedale
is another such project. Headed by Rahul Todi,
the project cost is pegged at $100 million. The
main objective behind creating this landmark is
to provide NRIs a home that is free of noise and
air pollution, a place where they can rejuvenate
themselves. |
